Padel Rating

  • 1. Newcomer

    You are brand new to Padel and possibly racket sports in general. Learning how to familiarise yourself with the rules and scoring.

  • 2. Beginner

    You’ve had an intro session and now the work begins on keeping the ball in play and focusing on the basic strokes.

  • 3. Beginner +

    You can sustain a rally at a slow pace without involving walls but are not comfy with the glass just yet. You can hit volleys but overheads are a struggle.

  • 4. Intermediate -

    You can rally consistently at a medium pace and handle slow spin-free shots off the glass. You’re starting to get footwork and positioning and can anticipate shots from your opponents.

  • 5. Intermediate

    You handle serves, returns and groundstrokes. Volleys are good, but overheads need improvement. You can recover most balls off the glass. Strategy and tactics are entering your game. You understand strengths and weaknesses but struggle to exploit them.

  • 6. Intermediate +

    Your overheads have direction and and intent and you're comfy with the glass but struggle with correct positioning when returning difficult shots. You’ve improved your ratio of unforced errors and feel confident to compete in local tournaments.

  • 7. Advanced

    You can play all the shots and have a solid understanding of the game. You identify weaknesses in your opponents and frequently exploit them. Consistency at this level in a match is still a problem. You might compete in lower county level tournaments.

  • 8. Advanced +

    You handle all aspects of the game effectively, applying consistent pressure. You take more risks, resulting in a balanced ratio of winners vs unforced errors. You can coach Padel and compete in higher level country tournaments.

  • 9. Semi-pro

    Congrats you’re on the path to Padel fame..

  • 10. Professional

    Friends share videos of your viral Padel rallies in international tournaments on YouTube. You’re almost certainly not reading this.
